It's time for a BLOG!!! This blog will be about re-purposing and re-doing furniture with paint and stain. Hopefully you will like some of the before and afters.
Here is the Before of a dresser that I got off of Craigslist. It was in really good condition, so there wasn't much prep work to it. I just removed hardware and cleaned it up pretty good. That includes vacuuming out the drawers and cleaning underneath the piece where spiders like to hang out! Gross, I know.
Here is the After. It was painted with Maison Blanche Vintage Paint in Creme De Menthe and Maison White. Then I distressed the edges of it to give it a shabby look. I used a clear wax on the whole piece. Maison Blanche has 4 different wax colors to choose from, but on this one I wanted to keep it close to its original color. (This Paint and wax is available for sale at The Bee's Knees in Searcy). The hardware was cleaned up a little bit, but left the original color. This size dresser is pretty versatile. You could use as a dresser of course or a media center and I think it would be great to use as a changing table!
This dresser is for sale at The Mustard Seed Antique Mall in Oxford, MS for $225.
