Desk

I found this sad, sad desk at the local Goodwill.  It was a really great piece of furniture, but it needed a little love.  I took it home.  Ok, let me back up, I left it in my husband's car for a few days until I could talk him into carrying it to the basement with me:)  It was time for cleaning up and vacuuming.  This one had a bunch of nasty stuff underneath it.  Always check your old furniture that you are buying for funk!  Funk to me includes, spiderwebs, spider eggs, dust bunnies, other insects!

Here it is after a little love.  I kept the top stained wood just so it would be more durable for the new owner.  I shined it up a little bit with some beeswax that my father in law had underneath the kitchen sink and it was good to go.  I painted the main part with Maison Blanche Vintage Paint in Maison White and a Clear Wax on Top.  I wanted the drawers to have a little bit of a pop though, so I used Maison Blanche's Riveria and used a Light Brown Wax to darken it a little bit.  I love how it turned out.  For Sale at The Mustard Seed Antique Mall in Oxford, Ms for $175.
